As we celebrate the Memorial Day weekend, we bring you a new edition of Songs of the Week. This could be your perfect playlist for your pre-barbecue thrown down.

Last week, our list featured Harlem rhymer Cam'ron made the list along with Compton native Game and the late Coke Boy rapper Chinx. Those selections proved to be mainstays around The Boombox office and we hope were a welcome addition to your playlists as well.

A slew of rappers have been liberating new tracks on the internet, ranging from YG to the Roots, but after sifting through the possible picks, we managed to narrow down three winners.

So without further ado, here's our Songs of the Week playlist featuring new tracks from up-and-coming rapper Dave East, veteran lyricist Yasiin Bey and Atlanta trap king Gucci Mane who was just released from prison. Enjoy!

    "Bad Boy on Death Row"

    Dave East Featuring The Game

Harlem native Dave East has been wowing audiences since the release of his Black Rose project, and continues to stake his claim as one of New York's top draft picks. East goes West and connects with The Game on his new heater, "Bad Boy on Death Row," a hard-boiled cut that sees the two formidable MCs putting in work over a murky track, produced by Buda & Grandz. With legends like Nas cosigning him and a growing catalog of quality raps, Dave East should be a household name among rap fans in no time.

    "Tall Sleeves"

    Yasiin Bey

Yasiin Bey (aka Mos Def) is one of the more mercurial artists hip-hop fans have come across in the past two decades. The reclusive MC steps out of the shadows to drop off his latest one-off, "Tall Sleeves," produced by Ferrari Shephard, Bey gets his boogie on over a spaced-out synth production. While there's no telling when the public will be gifted with another full-length project from Bey, "Tall Sleeves" is a pleasant surprise and should refresh anyone thirsting for new sounds from the Brooklyn deity.

    "First Day Out Tha Feds"

    Gucci Mane

Keeping your name hot in today's musical landscape is tough enough, but sustaining it amid a steady output of releases while behind bars is quite the feat, and ATL trap king Gucci Mane has done just that over the past few years. After being released from prison earlier this week, the Guwop master immediately got to work in the studio, cooking up his first song post-release, aptly titled "First Day Out Tha Feds." Covering a range of emotions, it's clear that Gucci certainly had a lot on his mind during his incarceration when you hear his thoughts spill over the Mike Will Made-It produced track. With the rap world celebrating his homecoming and all of the opportunity in the world, listeners should expect to be hearing a lot from Gucci this summer, and "First Day Out Tha Feds is only the start.
