Best R&B Video of 2015 – The Boombox Fan Choice Awards
R&B videos in 2015 have run the gamut from cinematic masterpieces to lo-fi home movies. And the variety has made it a little harder to pick this year's Best R&B Video in The Boombox Fan Choice Awards.
Adele's "Hello" is one of the year's newest visuals, but the sepia trip down a romantic memory lane will draw you in and make you grab that Kleenex. That's the complete opposite feeling you get when you watch Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money," which turns the singer into an angry mob boss.
Usher pays tribute to those who lost their lives to gun violence in his video for "Chains" while Jhene Aiko dedicates her clip for "Eternal Sunshine" to her late brother." Miguel takes us into the middle of a rager in "Waves," and LOLAWOLF went for documentary-style filmmaking with "Bitch," bringing Miley Cyrus along for the ride. Although Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown are kaput, the couple appear more together than ever in "Autumn Leaves."
Ciara is a beautiful yet strong ballerina in "I Bet," Tinashe shows us her best dance moves in "All Hands on Deck" and Janelle Monae proves she's sexier and has a more flexible side in "Yoga." Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars take us to the hair salon for a spruce up in "Uptown Funk." FKA twigs brings the best waackers and voguers to the forest in her "Glass & Patron." And The Weeknd is buried alive in the "Tell Your Friends" visual.
Other nominees include Shamir's “Call It Off,” Raury's "Devil's Whisper," Bryson Tiller's “Don’t," Tory Lanez's “B.L.O.W.,” Tisha Campbell-Martin's "Steel Here," Kehlani's “The Way” and Kelela's “A Message.”
