Azealia Banks Announces New Album, Streams First Single ‘Count Contessa’

Azealia Banks' debut album, 'Broke With Expensive Taste,' is scheduled to hit shelves sometime in January 2014 and fans won't have to wait too much longer after that to hear even more from the Harlem rapper/singer.

Banks announced on her Twitter this afternoon (Sept. 16) that she is currently prepping her next project, 'Fantasea II: The Second Wave,' for release on July 11, 2014. That date holds some significance for her, as the first 'Fantasea,' which was a free mixtape, arrived on July 11, 2012.

To coincide with this news, Banks shared the project's first single, 'Count Contessa.' It's a tropical-tinged cut about a woman with the strength of a man, who boasts about her stature over a bouncy instrumental by U.K. producer Lone.

As for everyone waiting on more information about 'Broke With Expensive Taste,' Banks revealed that its next single is the SCNTST-produced 'Soda.' No word yet on when we'll hear it, but 'Count Contessa' should tide fans over until then.
