Asics Gel-Lyte V Red Mamba

Regardless of which brand is behind the release of an all-red sneaker, Kanye West’s Red October kicks are usually the first thing that come to mind. Asics was probably mindful of this when they dropped this killer new colorway of the Gel-Lyte V. Perhaps they were trying to shift that paradigm.

The model is completely covered in red leather embossed with a snakeskin print for a bit of texture to go with the tone. Both are equally potent and neither overpowers the other, which enables a pop of red suede on the side panel to still stand out in the mix. It’s one of those looks that feels like it could have been a collaboration but the in-house design team is totally capable of pumping out bangers on their own.
