Japanese denim is a staple in streetwear culture so using it as a textile on a sneaker silhouette like the Asics Gel-Lyte III is no surprise. However, the surprise comes courtesy of how Asics uses the material, which comes across in a very unique way.

The Asics Gel-Lyte III Kimono blends the durable denim with a more delicate satin for a very noteworthy new look. Navy denim makes up the majority of its build while the ankle color is reserved for the red-based kimono print fabric. The colorway is bolstered by the use of red on the midsole and toe accents while pops of yellow are mixed in for further contrast.

These are available now at select Asics retailers but they may be hard to find locally depending on where you are. As usual though, the internet has them and Hypebeast in particular would be more than happy to sell you a pair.
