Is Ashanti Replacing Fergie in the Black Eyed Peas?

The Black Eyed Peas are reportedly taking a break to allow leading lady Fergie to expand her family. And now, gossip is hitting the web that behind the scenes, BEP is looking to replace Ferg altogether with their current tourmate, Ashanti.

According to MediaTakeOut.com, and insider close to the band reveals: "The group had been looking for a replacement for some time. Ashanti was reportedly brought onto the group's World Tour -- as sort of an audition, to see if she could work with the band - and it worked out perfectly."

The site goes on to claim the deal is not set in stone, writing: "Well, a little birdie tells us that they haven't yet dotted the I's and crossed the T's yet, legally. But we can expect one in the next few days."
