Dane Bowers, who shot to fame in the late '90s as a member of the British R&B boy band Another Level, has been accused of conspiracy to rape by Hatfield police in England. He was called in for questioning along with a friend after a woman claimed she was attacked in a hotel room on Saturday (March 31).

Bowers, the ex-boyfriend of glamor model Katie Price, was arrested as his 35-year-old friend was questioned on the same suspicion. The alleged attack occurred just hours after Bowers headlined a DJ set at the Deco Lounge nightclub in nearby Hertford.

"A 32-year-old man from Surrey presented himself at Hatfield police station by prior arrangement on April 3," a Hertfordshire police spokesperson said in a statement. "The man has been arrested and is assisting police following an allegation of sexual assault."

According to The Daily Mail, both Bowers and his unidentified friend are denying the allegations, and were released on bail until May 14.

Another Level toured with superstars like Janet Jackson, and are known for hits like their U.K. No. 1 "Freak Me" and the Jay-Z assisted "Be Alone No More" remix.
