Amber Rose Clarifies Philly Girls Comment: ‘People Want Me to Be a Superficial B—-‘
Amber Rose found herself facing a major backlash on social media after her comments on Drink Champs this week. Earlier this week, Rose appeared on the podcast and talked about growing up in South Philly as a pretty girl.
“I don’t know how I can say this without sounding, like, f—ed up, but a lot of the people where I’m from aren’t traditionally attractive people,” Rose said in the interview. “For me, being blessed with beauty, as beautiful women know, is a blessing and a curse. To grow up in such an area and be blessed with beauty, it was very difficult for me.”
An apologetic Rose took to Snapchat to try and clarify what she was trying to say.
"People took a clip from the Drink Champs interview that I did," Rose says in the clip. "And I know people want me to be a superficial bitch--but I'm just not that person."
"I wasn't saying that that's how I felt, I was saying that's how people treated me and it just didn't come off properly in the interview. I just watched a clip and I'm just cringing because I'm so not that girl, man."
Amber also goes on to say that she embraces body positivity and believes everyone is beautiful. Do you think this will be enough to get her back in Philly's good graces? We shall see.
