Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spaulding, and Patti Labelle all banded together to pay tribute to Prince at this year's BET Awards each taking the stage to perform one of his hits. The legendary singer received the Lifetime Achievement honor for his over 20-year musical career. Monae channeled the purple one wit' her rendition of 'Let's Go Crazy,' Spaulding chose "If I Was Your Girlfriend," while Keys climbed on her piano and sang "Adore.' Patti Labelle followed and performed 'Purple Rain.' Labelle kicked off her shoes and brought Prince to his feet as he went to retrieve one of the diva's tossed heels.

Once Prince himself took the stage to receive his award he showed his gratitude for his fellow musicians. "Speechless. I do believe the future is in good hands," he said of the current state of music. "I've seen so much talent here tonight. I was pretty wild in my younger days, you don't have to do what I did. You don't have to make any of the mistakes that I made. The future is in your hands now. The world is yours. I'm so thankful to Janelle, Alicia, Esperanza, Patti... all the wonderful players. Thank you so much for a wonderful night tonight, I'll never forget it as long as I live."

This year's BET Awards also featured a tribute to the late Michael Jackson as well as performances from J. Cole, B.o.B, T.I. and Kanye West.
