Alicia Keys celebrates love and individuality in her new video for “In Common.” The black-and-white visual is very simplistic but conveys a message for any viewer watching the clip.

In the video, a bare-faced Keys is singing her tender lyrics as a group of diverse men and women express themselves either through dance or with interacting with each other. There’s also scenes of the R&B diva singing on a fire escape as if she’s on the streets of her hometown of Harlem, N.Y.

“This video is about celebrating our individuality, and how in the brilliance of our uniqueness, the magic of it all is at the core, we are all the same,” Keys told The FADER. “We want the same things. We all want to experience love, the freedom to be our truest selves, to love whomever we want and to be accepted and celebrated for all of our nuances and so called imperfections that make us, us.”

Alicia Keys is putting the finishing touches on her sixth project, which still doesn't have a title. You can watch her empowering new video above.
