The Jordan Brand itself can be considered a monument in Michael Jordan’s honor but he actually does have a statue known as The Spirit that leaps in front of the United Center in Chicago. An upcoming Nike release is set to embody the spirit of The Spirit and, once again, honor a man who redefined basketball and even helped revolutionize sneakers.

The Air Jordan 9 is the model that was selected for the honor and it feels pretty special at first glance. A white leather upper sets a mild tone for bronzed accents on the midsole, lace loops and lining to really shine against. Black accents pop up in the form of splatted specks and the tongue itself while a tongue tag bearing the date Nov. 1, 1994 serves as a reminder of when the statue was unveiled.

The Jordan 9 Statue is set to drop on Aug. 22 and they’re going to run you roughly $190, which isn't cheap, but a trip to Finish Line is way cheaper than a trip to see the actual statue.
