Since Friday (May 4), when beloved Beastie Boys rapper Adam "MCA" Yauch died in New York City following a courageous three-year cancer fight, fans and admirers ranging from the Dalai Lama to the Mets have been lining up to pay their respects. All the while, his bandmates kept mum, but last night, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz broke his silence and addressed fans with a post on the Beasties blog.

"as you can imagine, shit is just fkd up right now," Ad-Rock wrote." but i wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same) for all the love and support. i'm glad to know that all the love that Yauch has put out into the world is coming right back at him.

thank you."

Included with the post was a photo of someone's hand bearing the words "PWR 2 MCA" written in magic marker.
