As the initial destination for SWV’s remix of 'Anything' featuring the Wu-Tang Clan, its place in the hip-hop soundtrack firmament is guaranteed, but it’s got some g-funk classics from iconic artists that actually surpass a lot of the stuff they put on their own albums: The Dogg Pound’s 'Big Pimpin’' is often forgotten but it’s magnificent, as is Lady of Rage’s 'Afro Puffs,' which became a platform for her as a solo artist. But 'Regulate' by Warren G & Nate Dogg is a top-five G-funk classic, immortalizing the rapper-producer and the West Coast king of hooks.
