Lifetime has released the official trailer for the upcoming biopic, 'Aaliyah: More Than A Woman.' While the movie is already steep in controversy, it's about to get more questionable with the clip.

The 30-second preview features 23-year-old Nickelodeon star Alexandra Shipp as the late singer, who died in a plane crash back in August 2001. The young actress shows off her Aaliyah-inspired dance moves before she gets swarmed by fans wanting an autograph.

"It takes more than some hot producer to create a superstar," Aaliyah's mother says to her at the beginning of the trailer. "It takes the right artist."

Oddly, Iggy Azalea's 'Goddess' plays in the background, which is upsetting many diehard Aaliyah fans.

"The trailer to that aaliyah bio pic is the worst ever. The nerve of lifetime to put an iggy track in the background. Smh," wrote one commenter, while another tweeted, "I love iggy & her music, just not paired with an aaliyah bio pic."

The biopic is based on the biography written by Time music critic Christopher Farley and is executive produced by Wendy Williams. Aaliyah's estate reportedly doesn't endorse the telemovie.

“It needs to be a project that’s way more painstakingly done,” said president of Blackground Records Jomo Hankerson to The Wrap earlier this year. "To have all this other source material and limit yourself to a book, to put it on the small screen...it’s not the right treatment for her legacy.”

'Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B' will premiere on Lifetime on Nov. 15 at 8PM ET.
