Damon Dash is honoring his former girlfriend Aaliyah with an exhibit at his Tribeca art gallery. The Dash Gallery is currently taking submissions for art that celebrates the life and music of the late R&B singer, who died in a tragic plane crash in 2001.

"We are looking for art work that captures Aaliyah's essence and strength as an artist," read the bulletin. Dash opened the 4-story art gallery back in February with an intent to house young, contemporary talent. It falls within the umbrella of his new DD172 media enterprise which also includes the BluRoc music label, online TV station Creative Control and print and graphics shop, Color Bar.

For the Aaliyah exhibition, cost is $20 per submission and work will not be reviewed without payment. Interested artists should send entries to The Dash Gallery at 172 Duane St., New York, NY 10013. The deadline is November 1.
