Sam Smith has had a whirlwind year. In his new video for 'Restart,' the British singer looks back on all his new experiences, his accomplishments and the fun in between while on the road.

The video, which also showcases his time on the road this summer, looks more like a home movie due to the vintage vibe in some of the shots. The clip not only gives fans a behind-the-scenes view at what Sam has been doing while on tour but also serves as a nice memento for the U.K. crooner to look back on.

'Restart' was produced by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe and recalls the upbeat R&B styles of Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. Considering Sam has admitted that he grew up singing along to the late 'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' singer -- he's covered Houston's 'How Will I Know' -- this track is a clear indicator the influence she had on him as an artist.

"Restart is one of my favorite tracks on the album and I really felt like I wanted to visualise it,” Smith says in a statement. “I had such an amazing time putting this video together, remembering some incredible moments from this year and also a recent trip with my team to Brighton this summer.”

The 22-year-old is currently on his U.S. tour and will be stopping by Austin City Limits to play both weekends of the festival -- Oct. 3-5 and Oct. 10-12. He will then head back to Europe to tour the U.K., Germany, France and end the year with a gig in Belgium.
