50 Cent Says He and Kanye West Are Like ‘Yin and Yang’
In a recent interview, 50 talked about Kanye's new album '808s and Heartbreaks.' "There's no comparison to us as artists. It's the yin and the yang. It's almost the opposite," he said. "It was almost taboo in hip-hop for you to make a love record. That was reserved for LL Cool J: 'I Need Love' and 'Luv U Better.' He was the only hip-hop artist that's actually done that, prior to what I see [now] with Kanye. For him to make an entire love album, it's pretty much based on ... love and Auto-Tunes. I can't wait to see what this does."
The new direction of the producer/rapper's upcoming release has sparked mixed responses from critics, fans and colleagues alike. Although West's album drops in November, one month before his, 50 slyly gave his reaction to West's "vocoder friendly" music by comparing it to his own. "If I release 'Straight to the Bank' or 'Amusement Park,' they'll give me resistance until I deliver 'I Get Money.'
50 went on to say that his fans are very critical of his music. The rapper's fourth studio release 'Before I Self-Destruct' hits stores December 9 along with the accompanying film of the same name.
