50 Cent Drops 54 lbs for Film

50 Cent has released photos of his drastic weight loss, which he dropped for the roll in the straight-to-DVD film, ‘Things Fall Apart.’ The typically brawny rapper shrunk down to an emaciated frame for the part of Deon, a football star who becomes sick. Although it was originally reported that he would lose 65 pounds, from the looks of the photos, he took off more than enough.

“I lost 54 pounds for it,” he told US Weekly. “I was starving.” Getting down from 214 to 160 wasn’t easy.” 50 shed the pounds by going on a liquid diet and walking on the treadmill three hours a day for nine weeks. The 34-year-old also revealed that during his weight loss regimen he craved Chilli’s baby back ribs.

Aside from starring in the film, the Queens, N.Y. native acted as co-writer and producer through his company Cheetah Visions Films. The drama will be released next year and is centered around Deon’s last year of high school. The movie, which is directed by Mario Van Peebles, also stars Lynn Whitfield, Steve Eastin and comedian Mike Epps.

Thankfully, recent photos of 50 show that he has since bulked back up to a healthier weight-and can get back to eating those ribs he’s been yearning for.
