50 Cent and Beyonce

Rapper 50 Cent offered his answer as to why former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland can't seem to find colossal career success: her former group member Beyonce Knowles. 50 attests that Rowland has never been able to break from Beyonce's shadow. So the rapper is giving Rowland another shot by having the 'Survivor' singer star in his latest video 'Baby By Me,'

"You can't forget all the work she did with Destiny's Child," he said in an interview. "The difference between Kelly and Beyonce is the extreme focus they put on Beyonce to make sure she was completely right. Kelly wasn't held in the same regard, so in order for her to mean anything to America, they'd have to match the marketing dollars spent on Beyonce. She never received the superstar treatment."

After dropping her second solo album, 'Ms. Kelly,' in 2008 Rowland cut ties with her longtime manager and father to Beyonce, Matthew Knowles. To this day she acknowledges him as a positive influence in her career. "I have had great success under his guidance both as a member of Destiny's Child and with my solo projects," Rowland said after professionally parting ways with the Knowles clan.

Rowland has since delved into new ventures, including her stint on the Bravo reality show 'The Fashion Show' and as 50's love interest in the video. 'Baby By Me' is featured on 50's long delayed sixth album 'Before I Self Destruct,' which he says is the sequel to his debut 'Get Rich or Die Trying.' 'Before I Self Destruct' hits stores Nov. 16.
