2017 has already brought us more than a few of high-profile rap releases that have got the people buzzing and quieted talk of making hip-hop great again.  Plata O Plomo is the long-awaited and highly-anticipated collaborative effort between Fat Joe and Remy Ma that serves as a comeback for both rappers--their first album release since serving respective jail sentences.

The two may have been off the scene for a bit, but no signs of rust are present on Plata O Plomo, with the Bronx natives on rare form creatively--refuting anyone who may have believed their hit single "All The Way Up," (and its surrounding buzz) was a fluke. 12 songs featuring guest appearances from Kent Jones, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign, The-Dream, Sevyn Streeter, BJ, the Chicago Kid, Stephanie Mills, and other talent, Plata O Plomo is stuffed with highlights--and surprises.

After giving Fat Joe and Remy Ma's new release a few focused spins and with all things considered, we've selected and ranked what we feel are the best five songs from Plata O Plomo that stand a hair above the rest. Did your favorite track make the cut?

    "Swear to God"

Fat Joe & Remy Ma Featuring Kent Jones

Fat Joe & Remy Ma provide a little bit of that hardcore with "Swear to God," a Cool & Dre-produced banger which the two Bronx natives go bonkers over. Guest star Kent Jones gleans inspiration from the cult-classic flick Paid in Full for the hook, which compliments Joey Crack and Remy's grisly musings. One of Plata O Plomo's premier offerings, "Swear to God" is modern day street rap in the spirit of the classics, but with enough sheen to resonate with the new generation.

    "Too Quick"

Fat Joe & Remy Ma Featuring Kingston

Vocalist Kingston joins Fat Joe and Remy Ma on "Too Quick," a highlight from Plata O Plomo that ranks among the songs from the album with the most amount of replay value. Produced by Cool & Dre, "Too Quick" is a lady-friendly number that is sensual and gives a glimpse of the duo's more romantic sides. A dark-horse pick as a potential single, "Too Quick" is a strong contender to wind up a fan favorite.

    "Heartbreak"

    Fat Joe & Remy Ma

Plata O Plomo is an album that is steeped in the boom-bap that New York street rap is known for, but Fat Joe and Remy Ma tread new territory on "Heartbreak," one of the few upbeat additions to their collaborative LP. Featuring The-Dream, who lends his vocals to the track's hook, "Heartbreak" is an enticing tune with the potential to crowd dance-floor as the weather continues to get warmer. Exiting their comfort zones on "Heartbreak," the Terror Squad franchise players rise to the occasion for one of their most potent tracks.

    "Go Crazy"

Fat Joe & Remy Ma Featuring Sevyn Streeter and BJ, the Chicago Kid

Producers Cool & Dre rework Floetry's classic single "Say Yes" for "Go Crazy," a hazy standout from Plata O Plomo that finds Fat Joe and Remy Ma getting lustful, with favorable results. Featuring guest vocals from Sevyn Streeter and BJ the Chicago, "Go Crazy" is a sure-shot jam that is sure to become a mainstay on playlists and in the vein of the duo's previous battles of the sexes. Coming with their best sexual advances, the pair get persuasive on this lush highlight from their collaborative effort.

    "Money Showers"

Fat Joe & Remy Ma Featuring Ty Dolla $ign

The main event on Plata O Plomo is "Money Showers," an undeniable track that finds them joining Ty Dolla $ign to make it rain over Ralph Tresvant-sampling production by Cool & Dre. "Money showers, rain, rain, rain, rain," Ty Dolla $ign croons on the catchy hook, while Fat Joe and Remy Ma both deliver verses catering to the opposite sex while simultaneously getting their stunt on. Plata O Plomo may be stacked with standout songs from beginning to end that tempt you to turn the volume up and sing along, but "Money Showers" edges out the rest and is one of the hottest singles of 2017 thus far.
