It's been 29 years since the MTV Video Music Awards first launched at New York City's Radio Music Hall in 1984, and four years since it was broadcast in the Big Apple, but last night's VMAs event marked the first time the production set foot in Brooklyn. Shutting down main streets throughout NYC's biggest borough, and closing off key entrances to the city along the Brooklyn Bridge, thousands of people filled the streets as they waited to see some of music's wildest stars including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Wiz Khalifa, Lady Gaga and more.

But while fans flocked to the corners of Atlantic Ave and Flatbush and Dean St and 6th Ave, the most important attendees were those waiting to see who was going to take home one of the 16 Moon Man awards by the end of the night. While Miley Cyrus left fans disappointed going home empty handed, the Disney starlet held her head high with four nominations, and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis shocked everyone when their names were screamed for Best Hip-Hop Video.

As usual, it was night of surprise, pure upset and according to Rihanna, complete boredom. So in case you missed it, here are the 2013 MTV VMA winners!
