Missy Elliott has always been one to turn heads with her outfits. Last week, during the taping of the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, the lauded rapper did just that while taking the stage to perform for a tribute to Chris Lighty, her late friend and manager.

The 41-year-old, who recently released two new tracks with Timbaland titled "9th Inning" and "Triple Threat," grabbed a golden mic for the set while dressed in a studded black leather jacket. The unique piece was adorned with red fabric on its front in a V-shape. Considering Lighty created Violator Records and Management, Elliott wearing the jacket was fitting for the occasion.
