Nicki Minaj beat out the lackluster competition during Sunday night's (June 26) 2011 BET Awards, scoring the top award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist.

Grabbing Drake and her Young Money boss Lil Wayne by the hand, she accepted the honor, dressed in a plum-colored dress and black bob. "Wow, I can't believe I won," the 'Pink Friday' creator told the audience. The statement was met with snickers and laughs from the crowd, who thought the rapper was being sarcastic, since she beat out female rhymers Diamond, Cymphonique and LoLa Monroe -- artists that haven't achieved such success as she has.

"That's not what I mean," Minaj clarified. "I love my team -- Young Money, Cash money. Last year, when I won [Best Female Hip-Hop Artist], he [Wayne] was on Rikers Island. I can't believe I get to win this award and share it with the man who saw me rapping on a staircase."

On the music front currently, Minaj is touring with Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour.
