This year has been a busy year for Nas and he has no plans of slowing down. In the midst of finishing up his Distant Relatives tour alongside Damian Marley, the rapper is set to hit a few music festivals this year while putting together a new album.

"We're doing the rest of the festivals this year -- Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits. I'm excited about those festivals," Nas tells the BoomBox. "We did our thing all over Australia, and Europe so it's time to do the new stuff."

Although he previously revealed that the release of 'Lost Tapes 2' was in the works, the 37-year-old has since hinted at possibly putting the project on an indefinite hold. "I can't tell you anything about that," he continued. "I'm working on a solo album. I'm very excited about that. [No title] to share with the people yet. The producer list on the record is probably gonna be people I worked with in the past like Salaam Remi and some new producers as well."

The Queens MC was also recently in the studio with Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean, and although he has not decided whether or not their collaboration will make it to his new album, he has nothing but praise for the singer. "We were working. I like Frank Ocean. He's a really great new artist. We were just working; we will see what happens with the music."

Apart from his collaborative effort with Marley, Nas' last solo album was a 2008 untitled effort. The album was originally titled 'N-----,' but the rapper was forced to change the title due to the negative racial connotation of the title. Despite the name change, the effort peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200, Top R&B and Rap Album charts.

"I love life," Nas continues. "What else am I going to do? There's nothing that gives me the charge that I get making music. I do a lot of other things on the low, but I'm mostly proud of the music. My kids are my everything. I got the best kids in the whole world. My daughter is at the age where she can call me up and tell me what she thinks about Beyonce's new video and what she thinks about Wiz Khalifa and we can talk about it all. My son is walking and talking and he's no joke. I got the best kids in the world. I walk around everyday very blessed."
