Over his decade-plus career in the music industry, Jay-Z has picked up a few awards -- including 13 Grammys -- but the Brooklyn rapper has officially scored his first Emmy win this year.

Hov was honored with the Sports Emmy Award -- Outstanding Music Composition/Direction/Lyrics Emmy Award -- for giving a memorable opening performance at Super Bowl XLIV with 'Run This Town.' Jay performed the 'Blueprint 3' single to the backdrop of a full orchestra, sporting his signature black shades and a full suit. His collaborators, U2, also grabbed an Emmy Award for their contributions to the FIFA World Cup Broadcast.

Jay-Z's latest musical project is the upcoming joint album, 'Watch the Throne' with Kanye West. The first single 'H.A.M.' premiered back in January and the album is scheduled for release reportedly by the summer. The album, which was originally announced by West in August 2010, began as a five-track EP but later evolved into a full-length LP.

In addition to his musical endeavors Jay-Z recently launched the new lifestyle website 'Life + Times' with categories dedicated to style, sports, arts, design and technology. One of his most popular features was a recent interview with celebrity pal Gwyneth Paltrow.
