After a recent robbery and pistol-whipping in Los Angeles, Yung Berg has decided to tone down a penchant for flashy jewelry that has been getting him in trouble over the past couple years. The MC, who recently dropped a mixtape called 'Mr. Ward,' said that he is going to wear less jewelry so that others think he's learned his lesson.

"Me growing up and being Christian, being Mr. Ward, and who I really am, I toned down," he explained in a recent interview with Vibe. "I'm not going to be with the big gaudy chains because people would look and they would say, 'Well, this n---- still ain't learn his lesson.' I learned my lesson."

Burg has had a unique and fabled history of getting expensive jewelry stolen from him. Prior to the gruesome robbery in February 2011, Berg got an over-the-top 'Transformers' chain stolen off of his neck at a Detroit nightclub in 2008. Last year, he got a Batman chain robbed by a U.K.-based rapper named Rowdy-T. Unfortunately for Yung Berg, it's become trendy to take advantage of him and steal his necklaces.

"I'm going to have jewelry, but it's going to be more upscale and common," he explained. "It's not going to be catching just the n---- eye."
