Nicki Minaj's appearance on 'Saturday Night Live' this past weekend was a major success for the Young Money rapper, boosting the famed sketch comedy show to its second highest ratings of the season.

Minaj has created a cult following of fans known as Harajuku Barbies (and Kens), but for many, Nicki's 'SNL' appearance was their first introduction to the colorful artist. The wig-wearing femcee rocked hits 'Right Thru Me' and 'Moment 4 Life,' decked out in her typical bizarre get-ups, including the "Bride of Blackenstein" wig she wore in a sketch with host Jesse Eisenberg. Nicki also performed a hilarious sketch, 'Creep,' with 'SNL' cast member Andy Samberg's comedy rap group The Lonely Island.

Saturday's show scored an average 3.2 rating with 18-49-year-olds in 25 markets, tying with the Sept. 25 season premiere and coming in second only to the Jan. 8 show, which was hosted by sketch comedy legend Jim Carrey.

As for Minaj, she released her rap-pop debut 'Pink Friday' last November, and has been creating pandemoniom everywhere she goes. She was kicked out of her hotel in London, after too many fans and paparazzi bombarded the premises, while she was overseas doing press for the album. This spring, Minaj jumps on Lil Wayne's I Am Music II tour along with Rick Ross. The tour kicks off March 18 in Buffalo, N.Y.
