J. Cole, 9th Wonder Score ‘NBA Elite 11′ Soundtrack

EA Sports is known for fusing hip-hop artists to their video game soundtracks, and with the release of their 'NBA Elite 11,' they will follow the same formula. The company announced Monday that producer 9th Wonder has created the entire soundtrack for the game, while Roc Nation emcee J.Cole wrote the game's main title.

"Being the first artist to throw down the full soundtrack for 'NBA Elite 11' was pretty amazing," Wonder said in a statement. "I was able to mesh together the two things that I love in life, basketball and music."

Cole, who is prepping the release of his debut album, was equally excited about the new business venture. "As a big sports video game fan, it's an honor to be a part of EA Sports 'NBA Elite 2011," he said. "I thank EA for trusting in me to create the game's main song."

This latest game introduces several significant game play changes centering on increased user control. "The new 'Hands-On Control' scheme allows for one-to-one responsiveness of a player's movement and actions on the court," read the press release for the game. A new physics system "allows each player on the court to move independently of one another, removing the two-man interactions that have long taken the user control out of basketball simulation video games."

'NBA Elite 2011' hits stores Oct. 5 and will be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
