Hitmaking songwriter Bruno Mars has grabbed the spotlight as the music industry's new golden boy, most notably for his production work on songs like B.o.B.'s 'Nothin' on You.' Yet, the 23-year-old has raised the eyebrows of many since his arrest on Sunday morning (Sept. 19) in Las Vegas on suspicion of narcotics possession.

Mars, born Peter Hernandez, was in Las Vegas to perform a free concert for the Walmart Soundcheck Risers Live series at club Wasted Space inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Obviously floored to perform in front of his fans, the 'Just the Way You Are' performer tweeted a message to his fans early on Saturday evening to join him at the venue.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Mars was arrested later at 2:40AM inside the hotel. Hard Rock security confronted Mars in the hotel's bathroom and discovered him with narcotics. At press time a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department could not be reached to confirm Bruno Mars' arrest or give details on what drugs he was accused of having in his possession.

Bruno's arrest comes on the heels of promotion for his debut album, 'Doowops & Hooligans,' slated for release on Oct. 5.
