Cory Gunz Preps Release of ‘God Forgives, I Don’t’ EP

After offering a slew of mixtapes -- namely 'The Apprentice' series -- Bronx rapper Cory Gunz is prepared to release his first solo debut, 'God Forgives, I Don't.'

The 23-year-old rhymer, who officially signed with Young Money/Cash Money earlier this year, recently spoke on the delay of his much-anticipated release. "It's ready but I wanted to make sure I could put the project out properly," Gunz told VIBE.com. "I'm not trying to flood the market and oversaturate myself. So I'm taking long to keep building the anticipation for this one."

Mixtapes aside, Cory felt the tracks he crafted were best-suited for 'God Forgives, I Don't' and not for a free release. "With my new situation at Young Money/Cash Money," he continued, "I felt these songs were too valuable to give away on a mixtape."

However, SIX Gunz promises to give fans some tangible music before his EP drops. "I haven't forgotten about my mixtape soldiers. You can also be on the lookout for a '90s mixtape, [which] I'd love to get Mr. Cee on," explained Cory, the son of 'Deja Vu (Uptown Baby)' co-creator Peter Gunz. "It would be an honor to get his direction. I also got a mixtape called 'Guns and Euros.' I'm trying to push that internationally with my producer Soulfly from France."

Besides his forthcoming major label debut, which he hopes to have Lil Wayne jump on, Cory is also preparing for the release of his new Nick Cannon-produced TV show, 'Son of a Gun.' The show, set for an October premiere, will document the rapper's journey through the music industry.
