Kanye West gave a special impromptu performance for some very surprised employees at the Facebook office in Palo Alto, California, earlier this week.

The popular rapper/producer performed acapella versions of several new songs from his forthcoming album, 'Good Ass Job,' for the staff, while standing on a table and rocking a dapper suit.

"I've been writing new stuff for the new album and I've just got a couple raps that I really like, so I thought it'd be cool just to say them for you all," Kanye told the excited staff. "All ya'll turn your phones off."

He then launched into several brand new songs for the cheering crowd, including 'Lost in the World,' 'Chain Gang' and 'Mama's Boyfriend.' Video clips from the performance have already been uploaded to the 'net, and can be viewed here, despite Kanye's request for all technological devices to be turned off.

"It took me 33 years of my life to write [this]. It means a lot to me, and it's called 'Mama's Boyfriend,'" West said of one deeply personal new song. "There's a lot of use of the 'n-word,' but I'm allowed to use it."

Following the performance, Kanye posted a note of thanks to the Facebook employees on his blog.

"Many times in life I've had to deal with moments of doubt," Kanye wrote. "And as it's been a minute since I've performed any fresh material in front of an audience, this could've been one of those moments... But it wasn't. Your energy was a gift so electric, so genuine, that it really helped me give my best. The energy was so inspiring I had to keep going! I just hope you got as much from me as I got from you... which was everything!"

Kanye's 'Good Ass Job' is scheduled for a September 14, 2010 release date.
