Diplo
's Twitter feed is usually a thing of beauty, but yesterday things turned ugly after he took a dig at M.I.A.'s new album, '// / Y /,' and then lashed out at popular music website Pitchfork Media for publishing the quote in its news section.

The incident was kicked off when Diplo -- M.I.A.'s one-time boyfriend and longtime producer -- answered a question from a user named @_Dev about a track on her new album. "Tell me why does it sound like a toilet just flushed at the end of 'Tell Me Why'????" Diplo, being his usual funny self, responded: "Cuz rest of album is a turd."

While the blog Oh No They Didn't picked up on Diplo's response first, Pitchfork later published the quote in its news section as if the producer was trying to start a beef with his collaborator. When Diplo caught wind of this, he lashed out at the site for attempting to create a story out of thin air because it was a slow news day.

"I think when there [are] no wavves vs crystal castles 12"s or open letter from connor oberst & guccimane @pitchforkmedia has 2 reach a lil 4 newz," he wrote after posting another blogger's analysis of how many online news sources unfairly take jokes and turn them into gossip stories.

To be fair, Diplo never clarified that his comment was a joke and also said that M.I.A.'s album gave him "nightmares" in June.
