Bobby Brown surprised fans with a grandiose romantic gesture at the annual Funk Fest concert in Jacksonville, Fla. on Friday, May 7, when he proposed to his long-time girlfriend on stage.

Brown popped the question to his manager and girlfriend of three years, Alicia Etheridge, while concert-goers eagerly looked on. The couple's 11-month-old son, Cassius, joined the pair on stage for the big announcement and according to the Florida Times-Union, the crowd went wild with cheers of excitement and support during the unexpected event.

41-year-old Bobby Brown was previously married to R&B diva Whitney Houston for fifteen years. After their marriage ended in 2007, Houston was vocal about their joint battle with drug addiction, explaining that they fueled each other's habits. "He was my drug," Houston infamously told Oprah in 2009. "I didn't do anything without him. I wasn't getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that's what my high was -- him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together.

Brown's recent career moves included an appearance on VH1's 'Celebrity Fit Club.'
