Putting Jay-Z and Betty White together in most situations might be deemed as an odd combination, but the folks over at NBC are going to take a chance on pairing up the hip-hop mogul and veteran actress. On May 8, Betty White will host The Mother's Day episode of 'Saturday Night Live,' while Jay-Z will return as the musical guest for the evening. The episode will also include the return of several 'SNL' cast members (and mothers): Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Molly Shannon.

"Well, that'll be interesting!" Betty White told Zap2it.com. "It'll be great fun." When asked if teaming up with Jay-Z might attract some of his fans in her direction White answered, "I have no idea."

Although 'SNL' had its pick of the masses when it came to booking a musical act for the episode, White told Zapit she had no thought about that before learning it would be Jay-Z. "I really didn't, in all honesty. I was just so thrilled when I heard that Tina [Fey] and the girls were going to do it, I have tried not to have anything to say [on the creative end]. It's their show. All I have is veto power. If anything comes up that I don't feel comfortable doing, I can say, 'Can we go in another direction?' They know what they're doing far better than I do, so I didn't even get into the musical end of it."

It would truly be a classic moment to see Betty White and Jay-Z in a skit together. Let's hope the folks at SNL make that happen.
