BeyonceR&B diva Beyonce has made a pretty serious New Year's resolution: The singer has decided to take a much needed break for 2010.

"It's definitely time to take a break, to recharge my batteries," said the 28-year-old singer. "I'd like to take about six months and not go into the studio. I need to just live life, to be inspired by things again."

First though, Beyonce will be performing at the Grammys on Jan. 31, where she has been nominated for 10 awards. "I still haven't really digested it yet," she said of her multiple nominations. "I was focused so much on my husband's birthday -- I threw a big party -- that I didn't really think about it. But it's really an honor."

Beyonce's list of things she plans to do with her time off is relatively simple, "random things. I want to go to restaurants, maybe take a class, see some movies and Broadway shows." She also hopes to spend time with her sister Solange's 5-year-old, Daniel. "He's a wonderful kid, amazing, so smart. And I spoil him, so it's a lot of work. He's a 24-hour job."

Even though she's excited to take a brief rest from the constant grind, Beyonce doesn't expect it to be easy. "It will be the hardest thing in the world for me to make myself not do an album and shoot a video and turn it in and say, 'I'm ready!' I already have all these melodies and ideas in my head. I have to tell myself, 'Sit down! Sit down!
