Rapper 50 Cent is taking the movie industry by storm. Having opened up his own production company, Cheetah Vision Films, earlier this year, the rapper has reportedly signed a deal with Georgia-based entrepreneur Richard Jackson and his newly-minted Action Jackson Film that will joint finance and produce up to five films per year. The first project between 50's Cheetah Vision Films' and Action Jackson is titled 'The Gun.'

According to IMDb, 'The Gun' is about "a pair of life-long friends as they gradually become entrenched within the shady world of illegal arms dealing." It is the first of three features which 50 has written, and the rapper will star alongside Val Kilmer, with who he shared screen time with in the crime drama 'Streets of Blood.' The film begins shooting in Grand Rapids, Michigan in December, and is being directed by Jesse Terro according to Variety (though we suspect they probably mean acclaimed music video director Jessy Terrero.

50's Cheetah Vision Films is also already in pre-production on a second film, 'Jekyll and Hyde,' which features Forest Whitaker. The rapper also just made his directorial debut on 'Before I Self Destruct,' a film which accompanies his album of the same name, in stores today.

"When you write a song, you need to say it in three minutes or it is overkill," he told Variety of working in film. "But I like creating stories and going in depth with characters."
