In an interview with ABCNews.com, everybody's favorite doctor, Dr. Dre, revealed that his long-delayed album 'Detox' will likely be released in 2010.

Dre said that the album, which he's been working on for the past 10 years, will finally be finished this year. "Hopefully, I'll get it done at the end of this year, and we can hear it next year," the good doctor explained.

Fans were given hope that the album might actually see a legitimate release when reference tracks featuring vocals by T.I., Eminem, Nas and others leaked earlier this year, along with a snippet of a new Dre track in a Dr. Pepper ad. Unfortunately, an official release date still eludes us.

When asked for the reason for the album's delayed release, Dre admitted "motivation, other things getting in the way."Dre-affiliated rapper 50 Cent recently joked that he'd recorded material for 'Detox' that was so good he wanted to take the records back and release them himself. "Hopefully, he'll get it done and put it out," 50 added. "I'm waiting for the 'Detox.' All I can say is, Dr. Dre is the best producer in my eyes. Just the consistency over the years. He knows what he wants. He's such a perfectionist that it becomes difficult for him to put it out."

Somewhere, Dr. Dre is reading this, bumping his 36-disc set of 'Detox' tracks, and laughing cruelly.
