20 Nightmares for People Who Love R&B

We love R&B. From classic soul to the new school, there’s something about a good slow jam that can’t be beat. Every stage in our lives is filled with it. Remember how you felt when you had that blossoming puppy love or your first breakup? Memorable kisses, prom dances and your special wedding song; R&B is the soundtrack of the love in our lives. But the genre isn’t all a perfect dream. Scandals, career missteps and rumors plague the rhythm and blues just as much as the next. For people who love R&B, some hypothetical nightmares just keep us up at night.

Anyone testing Beyonce and her throne? No way. We won’t allow it. Anything related to Jay Z, Destiny’s Child and Blue Ivy is pretty much off limits too (Don’t make us send the BeyHive after you). We stay awake thinking how former stars have changed their tunes. Sensitive crooner Musiq Soulchild is a rapper named Hussle now; our single, sexy and sweet Mya is on the stripper pole; and former good girl Ashanti is Instagram famous?

Shaking our heads. Then there’s those things that just make us go, “Hmmm.” What if Rita Ora and Rihanna are really the same person (“Blonde Rihanna”?), Adele never comes back or R. Kelly plots to release a children’s book? Did we mention that Kim Kardashian might release another song? Uh-huh, honey.

Here are 20 Nightmares for People Who Love R&B.
