2 Chainz Debuts ‘FreeBase’ EP

It was in 2011 when former Playaz Circle rapper Tity Boi changed his name to 2 Chainz and solidified himself as a solo artist on the strength of his 'Codeine Cowboy' and 'T.R.U. REALigion' mixtapes, which spawned the street smashes 'Spend It' and 'Riot.'

Since then, 2 Chainz has traded the free downloads for plaques as his debut album, 'Based On A T.R.U. Story,' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while singles like 'Birthday Song,' 'No Lie' and 'I'm Different' have been certified gold, platinum and double platinum, respectively.

With his 'B.O.A.T.S. III' album on the horizon, Tity Boi decided it was finally time to return to the mixtape circuit and bless his loyal following with some free music. Last night, the ATLien dropped his new seven-track project, 'FreeBase,' and like the title suggests, it packs a lethal punch.

Heavyweight producers like Mike WiLL Made It, Young Chop and Metro Boomin provide the potent ingredients, while A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, Ty Dolla $ign, Cap-1 and the fresh-out-of-prison Lil Boosie assist 2 Chainz in whipping that work in the kitchen on 'Wuda Cuda Shuda.' Just know that if 'FreeBase' was the real thing, you wouldn't be getting it for free.
