When you're a superstar entertainer, what better way to tell your loved ones you appreciate them with a song dedicated in their honor. Singers and rappers alike pour out their hearts in lyrics that have formed some of the greatest tracks in history. Nothing says, "I love you," like a song dedicated to their kids.

Kanye West kicked off 2015 by celebrating the joys of fatherhood with 1-year-old daughter North West with the Auto-Tuned ballad ‘Only One’ featuring Sir Paul McCartney. The song finds Yeezy reflecting on his late mother, Donda West, whom he feels is looking down on her granddaughter -- all over a McCartney organ loop.

'Ye’s sweet, sentimental ode isn’t the first song that an artist crafted to speak to their child through song. Beyonce, Eminem, Lauryn Hill and more have penned tracks as a tribute to the apples of their eyes. Take a look at 10 Songs Artists Dedicated to Their Children.

    'Only One'

    Kanye West Feat. Paul McCartney

The birth of his first child, daughter North West, in 2013, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian a year later is certainly having an effect on Kanye West's music. “As I lay me down to sleep / I hear her speak to me / Hello ‘Mari, how ya doin’? / I think the storm ran out of rain, the clouds are movin’ / I know you’re happy, cause I can see it / So tell the voice inside ya’ head to believe it / I talked to God about you, he said he sent you an angel / And look at all that he gave you / You asked for one and you got two,” he sings over an organ played by Paul McCartney.

    'Zion'

    Lauryn Hill

When Lauryn Hill gave birth to her first of six children, everyone knew the joy of her world was in Zion. On her five-time Grammy Award winning-album ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,’ she penned ‘To Zion’ featuring Carlos Santana. The introspective ballad finds L. Boogie opening up about having a baby in the midst of her budding career, despite being encouraged to have an abortion.

The track not only showcasing her songwriting skills and love for her son, but it also proved to be one of the most memorable contemporary R&B dedications of all time.

    ‘Blue’

    Beyonce Feat. Blue Ivy Carter

Along with the release of Beyonce’s 2013 surprise self-titled album came an unexpected feature from her then 1-year-old daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

The music video for 'Blue' features footage from the singer's time in Brazil. Candid moments showcase Blue and Bey on the beach playing in the sand. The visuals are just as touching as the lyrics.

"Each day I feel so blessed to be looking at you / 'Cause when you open your eyes, I feel alive / My heart beats so damn quick when you say my name / When I'm holding you tight, I'm so alive," Bey sings with passion. Meanwhile, Blue closes the track with the word "mommy." It doesn't get any cuter than that.

    'Glory'

    Jay Z Feat. B.I.C. & Pharrell

Before Bey dropped the song ‘Blue,’ Jay Z teamed up with Pharrell for the track ‘Glory,' which was released just days after her birth on Jan. 7, 2012.

Hov, known for his drug-riddled rhymes and hardcore image, demonstrated his softer side with a vulnerable offering to his firstborn. “Maybe I’ll paint the sky blue / My greatest creation was you,” Jay rhymes.

In addition to being an adorable dedication to his child, the song also featured her infant cries, making her the youngest person featured on a rap song.

    ‘Hailie’s Song’

    Eminem

Although Eminem didn't plan to put this song on his 2002 album, ‘The Eminem Show,’ fans are surely glad he did.

The rather animated rapper, who produced the effort, typically wears his sadistic heart on his sleeve. However, he channeled his serious side on ‘Hallie’s Song,’ debuting his singing voice and his reason for living: his then-baby girl Hailie Jade Mathers.

    'Just the Two of Us'

    Will Smith

Will Smith’s 1997 debut solo album ‘Big Willie Style’ boasted a slew of hits including one of his biggest solo efforts, ‘Just the Two of Us.’ The song is an upbeat track that focuses on his relationship with his son Trey -- his first child before Willow and Jaden were born.

Smith’s words of encouragement and support for his first-born make this effort more than memorable. The visuals, which featured famous father and son duos such as Nas, Damon Wayans and Magic Johnson only added to the song's success.

    'Daughters'

    Nas

Watching his daughter, Destiny Jones, grow up while manning his post as one of hip-hop’s elite for more than two decades made Nas get very reflective on his 2012 album, ‘Life Is Good.’

With the help of producer No I.D., the Queens MC didn’t hold back on the song 'Daughters,' which featured him opening up about fatherhood and personal issues he had raising Destiny. The song was so honest, emotional and moving it was nominated for two Grammy Awards -- Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance. The track also earned him the BET Hip Hop Award for Best Impact Track.

    'Speechless'

    Alicia Keys Feat. Eve

Obviously still on Cloud 9 after the October 2010 birth of their first son Egypt, Alicia Keys teamed up with hubby Swizz Beatz and Eve on ‘Speechlesss.’

Over a sample of Kanye West’s ‘Devil in a New Dress,’ Keys celebrates motherhood, detailing how she wakes up daily seeing little Egypt, which leaves her breathless. The Deans dropped the song on Dec. 27, 2010, as a special holiday treat for Beatz's Monster Mondays. Four years later, in December 2014, the couple welcomed their second child -- and Swizz’s fifth -- Genisis Ali Dean into the world. Maybe a new track dedicated to him is coming soon.

    'Like Father Like Son'

    Game Feat. Busta Rhymes

Game was so moved by his son’s birth, he recounted the moments until he was born on ‘Like Father Like Son’ featuring Busta Rhymes.

“June 30th, 11:07 I got that call / She 8 centimeters, my lil' man about to fall / Scuffing my Air Forces, running through the hospital hall,” Game kicks off on the opening verse.

The song was one of the more sentimental moments on the rapper's No. 1 2005 debut LP, ‘The Documentary.’

    'Life"

    Royce da 5'9'' Feat. Ameriie

Royce Da 5’9″ invited his son to come sit on his lap for a story about his ‘Life,' a 2002 Ameriie-assisted track.

The rapper schools his son on everything from manhood to the streets to the rap game, which provides his little one with the ultimate survivor's manual. "Little Royce Nickel Nine, eyes wide with sight / With a future as bright as the light in the eyes of Christ / Ready to take on the world and whatever is in it / Proofread, sign, and seal whatever you finish / I can only lead you while you're on your quest for knowledge / I'ma teach you to have sense and to respect the dollar," he rhymes.
